Brent chairs the Fico Finance Board. He commenced his working career as a banker with
ANZ in Dunedin. In 1972 he purchased the International Harvester franchise for the Nelson /
Motueka / Golden Bay area. This business expanded to include motor cycles and cars.
Together with brother Bill, Brent founded Waimea Finance in 1986 to provide a hire purchase
facility for his clients.
Brent has a wide range of business interests in the Nelson area. As well as finance he
is well known in motor vehicle, property and aviation circles. He is a past Director of the
New Zealand SOE, Airways Corporation and a former Tasman District Councillor.

Geoff D Lawes (CEO)

Geoff began his life as a telecommunications technician before moving into sales and
general management. He has owned and operated a number of successful businesses, including 25
years in appliance retailing in Wellington and Nelson. He has been a director of the company
since 1998 and was one of the founders of Fico Finance before its amalgamation with Waimea
Finance Limited, (now renamed Fico). Geoff is a director of a number of private companies
with interests in finance, property, design and marketing and internet services. He brings to
his role as CEO wide general management, entrepreneurial and financial skills.

Paul D Le Gros LL.B
|
|
|
|
Paul is a solicitor who has been practising predominantly in business law for over 30
years and is a consultant with Duncan Cotterill lawyers, having recently retired as
founding partner in Nelson.
He has been involved in a number of private companies and governmental organisations as
both director and adviser, and on international business boards in Hong Kong and
Switzerland. He is a board member of several substantial private entities operating
throughout New Zealand.

Scott Dodd (Executive Director)

|
Scott comes from the UK and has been here since 1996. He started life in NZ by working for AJ Hackett and has done over 500 jumps. Scott’s former career was as a computer programmer for an Accounting Package for 10 years.
Along with his experience in accounting he brings with him 5 years of experience in other businesses ranging from property investment to share trading. He loves skiing and squash and spending time with his family. |
